Dermalogen Treatments Dermalogen is a human tissue implant that is administered by injection to treat lines and wrinkles. Dermalogen has two major advantages over standard bovine (cow-derived) collagen. First, no allergy testing is necessary before Dermalogen treatment. Second, Dermalogen causes ingrowth of your own collagen in treated areas; thus, after a series of treatments, the filling effects are long lasting, unlike standard bovine collagen. Dermalogen is harvested from human tissue, and is specially treated to remove all cell membranes and any infectious agents. It is primarily used to treat lines around the eyes ("crow's feet"), on the forehead (horizontal lines or vertical frown lines), smile lines, lines around the lips, and for enhancing the lip border. Dermalogen may be used in conjunction with Botox therapy for maximal effects in certain areas, especially in the upper face.Dermalogen is typically administered in three treatment sessions over the course of 6 to 8 weeks.
